Federal Hall
- Present George Washington was inaugurated at Federal Hall.
- Federal Hall was the location of the first United States Congress met.
- The original City Hall was located at Federal Hall.
- Federal Hall hosted the first Stamp Act Congress to protest for representation, in 1765.
- The Bill of Rights was passed at Federal Hall.

I like that Federal Hall is an example of New York City's involvement in politics during the American Revolution. Most people think of Boston and Philadelphia when asked which cities were the center of politics during the revolution. However, this shows how involved New York City really was. George Washington was nominated there, and it's where the first congress met. NYC is really quite more historically prominent than most would think.
ReplyDeleteCorrection: GW was inaugurated there. (Also the Stamp Act Congress met there and the Bill of Rights was proposed there.)
